Enhancements to Tecnomatix Technologies ’ FactoryLink software solution offers users more functionality and the ability to build and deploy applications and react to operations more rapidly. FactoryLink 7.5 for industrial HMI and SCADA systems provides out-of-the-box reporting so users can instantly understand trends and tendencies in the operational knowledge they collect from managed processes.

It also features automatic e-mailing of alarms and events to permit fast acknowledgement and response. New waveform and sequencing tasks help commission projects quickly by emulating real-world I/O points and devices. Other additions include a one-click client for rapid deployment of nodes on a LAN or VPN using a lightweight install requiring no user intervention; rapid set-up of redundant applications; and 10x performance improvement in automatic generation of systems using the package’s application object technology.

Tecnomatix says the release demonstrates its commitment to HMI/SCADA and introduced important new functionality for such key related markets as pharmaceuticals and food and beverage. The new version helps users build applications compliant with the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11 regulations and other GAMP (good automated manufacturing practices) initiatives.

“FactoryLink 7.5 is an important element in the comprehensive, collaborative eMPower solution suite, linking the most advanced MPM technology to the shop floor,” says Jaron Lotan, president and CEO of the company. FactoryLink 7.5, he goes on, “empowers customers to react faster and use real-time manufacturing intelligence to improve operations.”
