STFE Elite Series of Active Tracking Filters with surge suppression are designed for mounting on standard DIN rails. (SolaHD was formerly known as Sola/Hevi-Duty. SolaHD is “a premium line of power quality solutions under the EGS Electrical Group family of brands… a division of Emerson Industrial Automation,” the company says.)

STFE Elite filters protect against the full spectrum of voltage transients and surges that may impair operation of control panels, factory automation systems, point of use equipment, programmable logic controllers, and other industrial and machine tool equipment.
They combine a hybrid-clamping network with Active Tracking Filter technology, allowing them to track the input ac power line and respond instantly upon detecting extraneous high frequency noise and high voltage transients. These problems are caused by everyday events such as turning on machinery, motors or equipment, making no system immune.
Features include: a patented metal mount clip, UL Listed surge current capacity of 45,000 A, a fully enclosed metal housing, transient protection in all modes (L-N, L-G and N-G), a wide operating temperature of–40 °C to +50 °C, LED status indication, and a Form C contact for remote monitoring. They measure a compact 4.88 x 2.56 x 4.56 in. (height x width x depth). The filters can be built to meet unique applications requirements, and are available in hardwire DIN Rail mount, single-phase configurations. They are designed for years of trouble free operation and require little or no operator intervention after installation, company says, and meet UL1449, UL1283, cUL recognized component, and CE requirements. List prices start at $170, the company said in an April 18 announcement; there’s a five-year warranty.
