MDT Software (Alpharetta, Ga.) reports its MASS Autosave real-time, change management software now supports Rockwell Automation’s RSLogix 500 for the SLC 500 processor line, and its MASS Y2K AutoScan module can scan controller programs for potential Y2K or other date-related problems. The Quantum Ethernet card from Groupe Schneider (North Andover, Mass.) with embedded Web server allows users with browsers and Ethernet TCP/IP connections to “browse” PLCs for status information. IBS PLC5 DSC/I-T is a controller board from Phoenix Contact (Harrisburg, Pa.) that provides an Interbus connection for Allen-Bradley’s PLC5 1771-series I/O structure. Thunder from Face International Corp. (Norfolk, Va.) is a piezoceramic layer bonded to thin metal layers on top and bottom, which causes a mechanical pre-stress condition that allows it to be used as an actuator or a sensor. Cutler-Hammer/Eaton (Columbus, O.) displayed D710, a 15-in. active matrix LCD color flat panel display, and NetPoiNT HMI software that allows developers to generate HTML (hypertext markup language) pages.
