Stand-alone amplifier for analog signal processing

SHM-50 Series stand-alone, sample hold amplifier from C&D Technologies Inc. features a fast acquisition time with up to 0.005% accuracy and a TTL interface.

Blue Bell, PA —A miniature, high-speed, stand-alone sample-hold amplifier from C&D Technologies Inc. reportedly provides highly accurate capture and hold of fast signals and pulses in a wide range of analog signal processing applications such as those found in multi-channel, multiple-event equipment.

SHM-50 provides an alternative to engineers who previously could only obtain sample-hold functionality integrated within an analog-to-digital converter. With a small-signal bandwidth of 70 MHz, the amplifier is available in a through-hold or surface-mount 8-pin mini-DIP package. The device is a complete sample-hold circuit containing a precision MOS hold capacitor and a MOSFET switching configuration for faster switching and better feed-through attenuation of–78 dB. A TTL interface is included within the specification.

A FET input amplifier design allows an acquisition time of 40 ns for a 2-V step toversion has an operating range between –55 and 125 °C.
