Subscribers select eight 2005 Engineers’ Choice Award winners

Control Engineering subscribers selected eight Engineers’ Choice Award winners among 45 winners of the 2005 Editors’ Choice Award, one per product category. Announced at a March 21 ceremony during the Industrial Automation Show at National Manufacturing Week, the winners are:

Embedded control—LPC-401FS Fanless LittlePC from Stealth Computer Corp. ;

Human-machine interface—EZ-Light from Banner Engineering Corp. ;

Instrumentation and process sensors—ST50 Flowmeter with Wireless Capability from Fluid Components International (FCI) ;

Machine control and discrete sensors—CSI 9210 Machinery Health Transmitter from Emerson Process Management;

Motors, drives, and motion control—H2 Adjustable Speed Drive from Baldor Electric Co.;

Networks and communications—Battery powered wireless transmission system from Adalet Wireless;

Process and advanced control—PID Tuning Translator from ExperTune Inc.; and

Software and information integration—RSLogix 5000 v.15 from Rockwell Automation.

Criteria for editors’ Choice Award selection (CE, January 2006) are technological advancement, market impact, and service to the industry. In the Engineers’ Choice survey, subscribers were asked to consider the same.
