Burgaw, N.C. —This family of DIN-rail mounted surge suppression modules can absorb more than 900 Joules from line to neutral. Designed for ac and dc supply voltages as well as current-loop applications. An LED indicator turns off when it is time to replace the module. Unlike suppressors placed in a parallel path with the power supply, Wieland modules are positioned on the load side of the transformer directly between the power supply and equipment. Three levels of protection are provided. An inductor slows rise time of the transient in the first stage, an MOV (metal oxide varister) suppresses large surge currents and clamps spikes, and an array of MOVs provide the third stage .
