Taro Pharmaceuticals will use SupplyScape ‘s E-Pedigree data management solution to secure its prescription drug supply chain.Based in Hawthorne, N.Y., Taro markets branded and generic pharmaceuticals manufactured by its parent company in Israel and its affiliate in Canada. The company has more than 150 Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) drug approvals in the U.S.As part of the company’s patient safety program that included preparing for compliance with California’s 2009 ePedigree requirements, Taro conducted an evaluation of the leading ePedigree system vendors and chose SupplyScape’s E-Pedigree based on the solution’s EPCglobal Drug Pedigree Messaging Standard certification, as well as the ability to harness E-Pedigree’s secure and accurate supply chain information to drive both compliance needs and future operating efficiencies.”Taro was impressed with the extensibility of SupplyScape’s E-Pedigree system,” says Kirk Edleman, Taro’s director of Customer Logistics. “The availability of pedigree data will give us better visibility to manage and trace drug products through the supply chain and further our efforts in tracking returns and resolving receipt errors.”
