Telvent , a Global RealTime IT company, is upgrading a pipeline monitoring and control system with its latest supervisory control and information management technology, the OASyS DNA SCADA Suite.

The system, which includes the company’s Gas and @Web suites of applications, is intended to help ensure availability of critical control, measurement, and reporting functions on Northern Natural Gas ’ (NNG) legacy OpenVector pipeline. The 26,700 km transmission pipeline and network also includes cross-haul and grid transportation among other interstate and intrastate pipelines.

The upgrade is scheduled for completion in spring 2005. Omaha, NE-based NNG accesses supply from every major mid-continent basin, as well as the Rocky Mountain and Western Canadian basins. Supply is delivered to North and Central U.S. end-users. The company also provides transportation and storage service to some 75 utilities in the Upper Midwest and operates three natural gas storage facilities.
