Terminal blocks provide safe disconnect when current transformer short

New Phoenix Contact ME test disconnect terminal blocks are said to provide safe disconnect capability between measuring transducers and safety equipment in current transformer (CT) shorting applications. The screw-free disconnect lever provides visual indication of the switch’s position.
Designed for use in such industries as power generation, utilities and semiconductor manufacturing, the ME terminals can be used wherever high currents must be reduced using current transformers, and where high voltages are reduced with voltage transducers. To accomplish the safe disconnect, the operator places switchable ME test disconnect terminal blocks before the meter for measurement and maintenance.
Each terminal block has a set of three bridging channels on either side of the disconnect lever. The new pluggable shorting component can lock into one of the bridging channels. Even with the shorting component installed, two bridging channels remain available for use.
ME test disconnect terminal blocks, ground and feed-through terminal blocks have the same pitch and profile. All are available with screw, spring-cage and push-in connection technologies. The ME series is part of Phoenix Contact’s Clipline Complete system, which features standardized push-in bridging, marking and testing accessories for all connection technologies.
