Dayton, O.— Hyde Park’s new model SM606 Series sensors monitor the distance to an object and generate a proportional 0-10 V output. The sensors offer measurement and control of materials within fixed-window spans of up to 9 in. and sensing ranges up to 10 in. They detect objects of all colors and materials as small as 0.0625-in. dia., transparent or opaque, liquid, or solid. With a response as fast as 1.5 msec on the 4 in. range model, the sensors are capable of detecting rapidly changing object positions as small as 0.027 in. at the rate of 667 samples per sec. Typical applications include checking and controlling fluid levels, measuring speed and position of an object moving on a slide at rates in excess of 100 ft per sec and controlling the tracking of paper or fabric web materials.
