Mitsubishi Electric’s three-phase UPS, the Summit Series, incorporates silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors, which are designed to have
higher switching frequencies and lower switching losses. It offers higher thermal conductivity, which promotes heat dissipation. The Summit Series of semiconductors are designed for data centers and other demanding mission-critical applications. The Summit Series has efficiencies greater than 98% at a 50% load with a maximum efficiency 98.2%. The 500 kVA UPS model is a three-phase, on-line double-conversion system designed to supply clean, continuous power to systems sensitive to fluctuations common in utility power. Higher efficiencies translate to lower energy usage and cooling costs.
