Cambridge, Mass. — VenturCom Inc., a provider of software and services for Windows-based intelligent connected equipment (ICE), announced May 4 that it has acquired Chesapeake Bay Systems (Virginia Beach, Va.). Chesapeake Bay Systems provides consulting and development services that assist OEMs in bringing new products to market, specializing in Windows NT, Windows CE, QNX, and Hyperkernel operating system technologies. Michael Dexter-Smith, VenturCom’s president and ceo, says Chesapeake’s competencies meet the needs of VenturCom’s customers, who use Windows NT and CE and the conversion from other operating systems, as well as those that use specific driver, control, and data acquisition applications. VenturCom will integrate Chesapeake’ assets and staff, but will maintain and expand Chesapeake’s existing offices.
