Vertical carrier orientation reduces lifecycle costs through lower installation, maintenance, and energy costs. According to the company, vertical I/O is easy to install and maintain because cables coming from the bottom of cabinets can be fanned out and terminated without multiple wire bends. Overall air-conditioned cabinet footprint is reduced and vertical I/O reportedly provides better thermal management and improved airflow in cabinets due to the vertical orientation of cards.
