Video: Integration of InfluxDB & Grafana onto an edge device
Explore the possibilities of using Open Source Software as a low cost historian where commercial options may be cost prohibitive.
Learning objectives
- Understand how to install InfluxDB, Grafana & Node-RED as Docker containers
- Learn how to create a database in InfluxDB
- Learn how to connect a data source to Grafana
- Use Node-RED to control the publishing of measurements to InfluxDB
- Understand how to ceate a simple web dashboard in Grafana
Explore the possibilities of using Open Source Software as a low cost historian where commercial options may be cost prohibitive. Installation and configuration will be covered as well as an example implementation of Node-RED to organize ModbusTCP data into easy-to-use data structures that are logged to the historian. Finally, the creation of simple Grafana dashboards will be demonstrated to complete the solution.
