InformITSM3000 Multipoint Videographic Recorder features up to 36 recording channels and IP66/NEMA 4X environmental protection. Suitable for a wide range of process applications, including food preparation, beverage, chemicals, water and wastewater, facilities and more, SM3000 can be mounted in harsh environments and hose down areas.

SM3000 also features standard strip chart views, as well as circular chart, digital indicator, process and bargraph displays on a 12.1-in. (31 cm) thin-film transistor (TFT) color screen. This high-contrast TFT display has Windows-style operation and configuration menus.

The recorder can be integrated into PC networks and allows data to be monitored and accessed remotely. An embedded Web server provides real-time access to process information over the Internet.

SM3000’s 8 MBs of onboard flash memory stores up to 2.8 million data samples. Optional SmartMedia or Compact Flash removable memory cards provide additional data storage capacity. Advanced binary archiving instead of text format is used to store information. Binary archiving allows faster file creation and large file size; binary files can be decoded and opened into an Excel spreadsheet. SM3000 is data security compliant with 21 CFR Part 11.

A media door lock is standard to prevent unauthorized access to data storage media. Two security modes are available to protect the instrument’s configuration. An electronic signature facility allows the creation of the electronic equivalent of an operator’s signature on a conventional paper chart. www.abb.com
