Wide gap encoders

M56 Thin-Line Series encoders/tachometers incorporate Avtron’s new Wide-Gap sensor technology that reportedly eliminates lengthy alignment steps and simplifies installation. Wide-Gap technology allows 57% larger operating gap between the magnetostrictive sensor and rotor (and 50% increase in air-gap tolerance) compared to standard sensors. New Edge-Guard sensor technology protects vital sensor parts from contamination and accidental contact with the rotor. M56 encoders/tachometers have a thin 0.75-in. (20 mm) profile. They contain no bearings, couplings, or other parts subject to wear, and are com-patible with nearly all major industrial motor brands.
