Burgaw, N.C.Wieland Electric Inc. has expanded the sensor capabilities of the ricos thermocouple module in its series of remote I/O for fieldbus applications. The addition allows direct input of Type T thermocouple sensors, which are classified as -200 to +400

“This new module provides direct sensor input for the four most commonly used thermocouple sensors,” said Wieland Electronics product manager Marc Immordino. “This eliminates the need for a signal conditioning module between the sensor and controller input,” continued Immordino.

Modules enable individual I/O point programming and local forcing capabilities from the buscoupler interface used for monitoring and commissioning I/O points. In addition, a “works in a drawer” feature allows removal of the electronics for replacement or repair without disturbing the wiring.
