Waterloo, Ontario, Canada— To assist configuration and diagnostics in DeviceNet applications, Woodhead Industries Inc. has released software tools compatible with its SST DeviceNet network interface cards. Woodhead designs and manufactures industrial communication products for the global automation market.

These software tools enhance the SST DeviceNet network interface cards’ ability to support DeviceNet applications. The network analyzer captures DeviceNet network activity, which aids in troubleshooting and diagnosing device problems. The diagnostic tool provides card initialization tools and diagnostic information on scanner related activity.

All tools are compatible with Microsoft Windows NT4, 2000 and XP. SST DeviceNet network interface cards compatible with these software tools are available in either PCI (3.3 V/5 V) or PC/104 bus format. Both formats support either one or two network channels/ports.
