Dublin, Ireland— Yamanouchi Ireland Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan’s Yamanouchi Pharmaceuticals, recently announced that it will use ABB ‘s IndustrialITtechnology to upgrade its Dublin-based production facility.

‘The combination of technology, along with the need to meet the most stringent requirements of regulatory authorities, such as the U.S Food and Drug Administration; delivery schedules; and competitive pricing were decisive in Yamanouchi’s selection of ABB,’ says John Lehane, Yamanouchi`s technical services manager.

ABB’s scope includes delivering a process control system capable of being validated to meet FDA 21 CFR Part 11 regulations. The hardware/software platform includes ProduceITbatch recipe management; InformITInformation Manager plant historian; SattLine DCS, and ControlITlocal and S900 hazardous area remote I/O systems.

ABB’s contract services will include design, system engineering, testing, validation, and training.
