Yaskawa Electric America Inc. has continued to increase its business in the Americas and to accommodate the growth with a continuing high level of customer service, it recently expanded its U.S.-based operations with additional manufacturing area. Earlier this year, Yaskawa moved into a new facility near Milwaukee, WI, including office and manufacturing space accounting for 107,000 square feet. Recently, Yaskawa added an additional 33,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the facility, giving the company a total of 140,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space.
The original relocation, from New Berlin, WI, to Oak Creek, a suburb of Milwaukee, was needed because growth in the North and South American markets required additional space for manufacturing. The Oak Creek facility houses manufacturing, development, building automation and marketing. Modern work spaces are provided including a dynamometer room and a development lab.
The Dec. 10 announcement said the company places great importance on its U.S.-based manufacturing operation and on its ability to serve customers. Much of the added space will be devoted to manufacturing and service, enabling Yaskawa to continue to provide a high level of customer attention and interaction, the company said. The facility is located at 150 West Oakwood Road in Oak Creek, WI 53154.
Yaskawa said it is the world’s largest producer of variable frequency drives, machine controllers, servo amplifiers and servo motors (rotary, linear, and direct drive). Yaskawa Electric America Inc. is headquartered in Waukegan, IL, with manufacturing centers and offices throughout the Americas.
