Beckhoff Integrates EtherCAT Interface Directly into Power Supplies Beckhoff has expanded its broad portfolio of PS power supplies with the new PS2000 device series featuring a built-in EtherCAT interface. The PS2000 power supplies can remotely collect additional measurement and device diagnostics for comprehensive system monitoring, which can increase availability and reduce downtime. As a result, the feature-filled power supplies combine compact design and high performance with predictive maintenance functionality for the first time. The new PS2000 variants combine high-performance power supply units from Beckhoff with the ultra-fast EtherCAT communication standard.
With the new TwinCAT MTP, TwinCAT automation software from Beckhoff helps create Module Type Package (MTP) projects with automatic code generation. The highly dynamic AL8000 linear motors from Beckhoff now meet even greater requirements for accuracy and synchronization with the new TwinCAT Cogging Compensation software. This makes the linear motors particularly suitable for high-precision applications such as milling machines or laser cutting machines. The cogging compensation software makes use of machine learning, which is seamlessly integrated into TwinCAT and applied on a fully automated basis (Engineering TE5920, Runtime TF5920).Beyond eliminating cogging forces in the AL8000 motors themselves, TwinCAT Cogging Compensation software accounts not only for magnetic effects but also factors related to mechanical design or energy chains.
With ATRO, Beckhoff presents a breakthrough concept for robotics applications. This modular system enables extreme flexibility in robot kinematics to fit essentially any application with payloads up to 10 kg and reach of up to 1.3 meters.
