Rohnert Park, CA – New ViX intelligent servo drive incorporates a flexible controller and 250/500 W output stage into an ultra-compact (4.9 x 1.65 x 3.35 in.) case. The all-digital dc-powered design makes it is less expensive than comparable ac drives, according to the manufacturer. ViX drive suits high dynamic, multi-axis applications without the need for individual power supplies-or can be used as a standalone drive/controller in distributed controls. ViX comes with outputs of 2.5 and 5 A rms continuous, each version able to handle motor bus voltages up to 80 V dc. The power stage has full PWM control with sinusoidal commutation. Resolver or encoder feedback is user selectable. RS-232C interface is standard, while a fieldbus module provides CANopen and RS-485. Standard I/O count includes 5 digital inputs and 3 digital outputs.
