Norcross, Ga. – DVT Corporation announced October 16 it has received a multi-system order for its machine vision sensors from the largest global manufacturer of wire and cable splice connections for the telephone, CATV, and electrical markets, Uraseal Inc.

The initial order consists of ten Series 600 SmartImage Sensors, self-contained machine vision sensors that incorporate Ethernet connectivity, image acquisition electronics, and microprocessor. Essential Technologies Inc (Biddeford, Me.) provided systems integration and networked the sensors over Ethernet to work in tandem with four SCARA robots in an automated assembly/inspection machine.

Uraseal’s customer list includes US West, Bell Atlantic, Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell, Ameritech, Bell South, Lucent Technologies, GTE, and many more.

‘With their ability to detect even microscopic pinholes and defects at full production speeds, DVT’s SmartImage Sensors eliminate potential leaks in waterproof electrical connectors – one of the most troublesome problems for companies like Uraseal,’ said Michael Schrieber, director of applied engineering at DVT Corp.
