Austin, TX – Building on the success and features of the FieldPoint intelligent I/O system, National Instruments introduced Compact FieldPoint. Measuring just 5 x 10 x 5 in., Compact FieldPoint’s rugged design makes it capable of withstanding 50 g of shock, 5 g of RMS vibration, and its designed-in EMC immunity permits operation near variable frequency drives (VFDs).
Capable of running in stand-alone (embedded control) or host connection mode, Compact FieldPoint supports all LabView functions including signal generation, calculus, curve fitting, statistics, auto tuning PID loops, feedforward, fuzzy logic, modeling and simulation, and more. For applications requiring control of external devices, Compact FieldPoint offers one RS-485 and three RS-232 serial ports. Device terminations can be direct sensor-to-module cables or through more traditional termination blocks.
