Horner APG merges with Genius Automation to expand into India

Indianapolis, IN—Horner Advanced Products Group (APG), which designs and manufactures industrial automation controls, reports that it has now expanded into India by merging Bangalore-based Genius Automation Pvt. Ltd. into Horner’s international business group.

Indianapolis, IN— Horner Advanced Products Group (APG), which designs and manufactures industrial automation controls, reports that it has now expanded into India by merging Bangalore-based Genius Automation Pvt. Ltd. into Horner’s international business group. The new firm will be called Horner Genius Automation (India) Pvt. Ltd., and will sell and support all Horner products on the subcontinent.

Horner Genius also will establish a technology center for developing products and solutions based on Operator Control Station (OCS), which is Horner’s integrated, all-in-one control platform. The new company also will deliver system integration services to the global market.

Horner APG is a division of 55-year-old Horner Electric, which has several U.S.-based divisions, including Industrial Sales and Service (ISS), Scherer Industrial Group (SIG), Indiana Fan and Fabrication (IFF), and Electro Mechanical Diagnostic Service (EDS). Horner APG presently has international operations in Europe and Latin America, and plans to expand its business to other countries over the next few years.

For nearly 20 years, Horner APG has provided solutions that include OCS; conveyor controllers for use with brushed and brushless rollers; SmartStack modular I/O; SmartStix remote I/O; and its TIU range of operator interface stations that support more than 100 brands of PLCs, drives, and peripheral devices.
