Three new offerings in the HMI area make their way to market starting this month. They include integration of an HMI touchscreen into the MMC motion controllers and servo drives from G&L Motion Control ; a Microsoft Windows CE-based industrial panel computer from Arista Corp ., Special Computing , and InduSoft ; and a line of operator terminals/visualization systems from B&R Industrial Automation . Touchscreen HMI is now part of G&L Motion Control’s total motion control solution

Cimrex 41 HMI touchscreen is now available for use and for integration into the G&L Motion Control family of MMC motion controllers and servo drives. Cimrex 41 operator interface from Beijer Electronics has a 3.8-in. touch display with built-in Ethernet. Features include a high resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, plus 0-100% backlight dimming for optimal viewing in many applications. Also available is CimrexProg 4.13 software for creating screens. Package includes an updated G&L driver that interfaces directly to the tag name database in a user’s motion control application and allows serial or Ethernet communications to MMC, MMC for PC, or PiC motion controllers from any Cimrex terminal.

HMI Express Pro series of industrial computers is intended for industrial automation applications.

Three companies have joined forces to bring to market a series of Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 industrial panel computers . HMI Express Pro results from the combined efforts of Arista Corp. , (provider of industrial computers and system integration), Special Computing , and InduSoft . Units are equipped with InduSoft Web Studio, making them suitable for industrial automation applications. HMI Express Pro with Indusoft CEView is a supervisory control, process monitoring, and operator interface. It features object-oriented database, math functions, report generation, achiving, batch recipes, and more for complete control and monitoring from anywhere via Internet connection.

Power Panel 200 series of visualization and automation systems from B&R Industrial Automation offer controller functions, including modular fieldbus interfaces and input systems, ranging from analog resistive touchscreens to various keyboard devices. All devices are equipped with a 266 MHz processor, Ethernet 10/100, serial interface, USB interface, and Compact Flash slot. User may select touchscreen, function keys, or a combination of touch and keypad with available display sizes of 5.7, 10.4, or 15 inches depending on individual requirements. Custom overlays also are available.
