Fremont, CA —OptoShield-OS3100 laser-light safety scanner from Scientific Technologies Inc . adapts to dynamic and irregular hazardous environments. Device features advanced diagnostic communications and interface options, and it includes two detection zone sets that can be externally selected to monitor changing hazardous areas without additional external controls.

Diagnostic communications include a two-digit numeric display, four standard LED status-indicators, and patented intrusion indicators that identify where the safety zone has been encroached without diagnostic searches or an external computer display. Accompanying software facilitates navigation and configuration to a variety of guarding arrangements.

Interface features include EDM/MPCE monitoring for control reliability to allow safe integration into the control panel of hazardous machinery. Outputs handle 625 mA to activate larger, widely used safety relays. Product is intended for safeguarding hazardous work cells, transfer lines, robot stations, internal press guarding, irregular or changing areas, and automated guided vehicles.
