Cumming, GA —C-more next-generation operator touch panel line from AutomationDirect is programmable and includes features described as providing power and flexibility. Models are available in grayscale (15 shades of gray) or color (256 to 64,536 colors, depending on model). STN grayscale and color displays come with a 6-in touchscreen; color TFT touchscreens are available in 6-, 8-, 10-, 12-, or 15-in. versions. Prices start at $425.
An analog touchscreen eliminates defined touch cell boundaries, so objects can be placed, scaled, and overlapped without limit. Backlights are rated at 50,000-hr life and are user replaceable on all but the 6-in. models. A host of communication options are available, including Ethernet 10/100BaseT ports. Optional Compact Flash cards up to 1 Gbyte or USB memory devices can be installed in most models to accommodate alarm, event, and message logging.
C-more is programmed with Microsoft Windows-based configuration software with tools for developing projects with up to 999 screens. Software includes 4,000 built-in symbols and 14 typefaces with hundreds of font sizes. Advanced graphic features include animation of bitmaps, overlapping objects, and custom object creation. FTP server, e-mail client, and Web server are built in. Trending, alarming, and recipes are standard. An Event Manager allows action to be taken based on events such as state changes, schedules, PLC tag names, or other occurrences set up in a database environment. Project simulator lets a developer view a project on a PC screen exactly as it would appear on the touch panel.
