Chicago, Ill. – Iconics (Foxborough, Mass.) used National Manufacturing Week as a forum to announce two OEM agreements for its HMI/SCADA software with Mitsubishi Electric Automation (Vernon Hills, Ill.) and Phoenix Contact (Harrisburg, Pa.).

Mitsubishi Electric will include Iconics’ Genesis32 HMI/SCADA software in its factory automation products sold in North America. Monty Fox, Mitsubishi software product marketing manager, noted, ‘Scalability was a huge factor for Mitsubishi in terms of choosing Iconics. Accessing a single design environment that can seamlessly cover common operating systems like Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, CE, and Pocket PC, as well as various user requirements was essential in our selection process. Another factor was Iconics’ expertise with OPC and membership with OPC Foundation.’

Phoenix Contact will embed Genesis32 into its family of industrial computers and Pocket Genesis will be embedded into Microsoft Windows CE-based HMI panel products. ‘Phoenix Contact’s industrial computers and CE-based HMI panels, coupled with Iconics’ HMI/SCADA scalable software, are ideal for OEMs and machine builders. OEMs and end users will benefit from the increased speed obtained in design, construction, and commissioning of modular PC-based control systems,’ states Dave Skelton, director of automation systems at Phoenix Contact. ‘Formalizing this relationship with Iconics means better support and service to our customers throughout North America.’
