Metis CAN-based, eight-channel isolated thermocouple to CAN device measures temperatures from -200°C to +1800°C at rates of up to 40 hertz per channel.
Accuracy is ±0.5/±1.5 degrees Celsius (typical/maximum) from 0 to 85 degrees and ±1/±3 degrees from -40 to 125 degrees. Each channel is isolated to 1,000 VDC. The unit includes open- and short-circuit detection to identify when a thermocouple wire is broken, disconnected or shorted to ground or power.
The unit is supplied with K-type miniature thermocouple connectors for compatibility with standard thermocouples. Other connector types — K, J, T, N, S, E, B and R — are also available.
This isolated thermocouple can be mounted on a DIN rail and includes two IP67-rated JWPF connectors for daisy-chaining with up to 128 additional modules, providing multiple measurement channels. The CAN bus speed and address are configurable and the supplied DBC file supports integration with most CAN bus systems. The input supply voltage range is 9 to 32V.
