A new day: Infor interface personalizes information delivery in process manufacturing enterprises

Infor MyDay for Infor ERP Adage lets users across all levels of business access reports and function-specific content to diagnose business situations and determine the “why”—not just the “what”—of business operations. Process manufacturers can use Infor MyDay to deliver real-time information, graphic representations of KPIs, and predefined reports. And it’s all presented in a personalized format.

Infor MyDay for Infor ERP Adage is a dynamic Web 2.0 user interface for Infor applications that enables central access to the critical information users need to excel in their daily work. Users of Infor ERP Adage 5.0 or higher with active maintenance plans can take advantage of Infor MyDay.

Infor ERP Adage is a comprehensive ERP solution for process manufacturers.

“We view Infor MyDay as a key enabler in reducing the complexity of obtaining business information from various sources and getting it into the hands of decision makers when they need it,” says Richard Langen, business system analyst for Nomaco Inc ., a specialist in custom thermoplastic foam extrusions and molded products. “Integrating data from nine disparate systems around the world and subsequently presenting that information in a personalized manner—tailored to an employee’s role within our organization—is vital to our ability to thrive and compete globally.”

More intelligent than a dashboard, Infor MyDay delivers business information to users in a single interface on their desktops so they can spend more time acting on information instead of gathering it. Its capabilities include predefined reports and graphic representations of KPIs, delivered in a personalized format based on specific functions in Purchasing, Sourcing, Processing, Accounting, and Accounts Payable.

More than 150 function-specific roles will be accommodated in the future, along with tasks and alerts to guide business users through daily actions.

Based on research surrounding the roles and working life of real users, Infor MyDay presents content from Infor applications in a personalized format, allowing users to easily drill down to underlying transactional data and make sound decisions that create value for the organization.

Infor MyDay reduces the need for IT to build customized reports for different business users, lowering total cost of ownership of ERP software.

For example, users in purchasing and sourcing departments can use the system’s consolidated data reporting to make business decisions that reduce excess expenditures, manage vendor viability risks, and identify ways to consolidate multiple vendors and suppliers. Infor MyDay reports give sales department users immediate visibility into trends in sales volume and customer service levels, as well as the costs of servicing customers.

Infor MyDay utilizes Infor Open SOA, which leverages an industry-standard business language to distribute data between Infor solutions and other systems.

“Access to pertinent, real-time business data across an organization is paramount to making better business decisions, as well as improving operations and customer service,” says Rory Granros, director of process solution marketing, Infor. “Infor MyDay takes ERP capabilities to the next level by providing visibility into the‘why’ and not just the ‘what’ of business operations by filtering data by job function and relevancy, and delivering it in a condensed home-page format so users can quickly make decisions and take actions to improve overall performance.”
