Established in 1954 and formerly a member of BPA Worldwide (under Reed Business Information ownership), Control Engineering serves the engineering community providing automation, control and instrumentation information across processing, discrete and hybrid manufacturing industries. BPA Worldwide will track circulation for Control Engineering based on business/distribution, demographics and geographic coverage. The magazine will have 12 months to complete its initial circulation audit.

CFE Media was established in April 2010 when it purchased Control Engineering, Consulting-Specifying Engineer and Plant Engineering magazines from Reed Business Information. The three long-standing magazine brands have been serving the engineering industry for over 60 years and are continuing their longstanding relationship with BPA under new ownership.
