As industries start connecting more of their operations to the Internet, Moxa’s IEX-408E-2VDSL2-HV-T Ethernet Extender Switch offers an ideal solution to maximize ROI by leveraging existing wiring infrastructures for network retrofits.

The two VDSL2 ports on the IEX-408E-2VDSL2-HV-T support long distance data transmission over twisted-pair copper wiring. The units can be linked in series in a long distance multi-drop configuration with one unit located at each drop-point. Adjacent drop points can be separated by up to 3 km (1.8 miles) with a transmission speed of up to 1 Mbps, and the built-in automatic CO/CPE negotiation function enables plug and play deployment. The VDSL2 ports for multiple failures ensures reliability. With Moxa’s exclusive Smart Speed feature, the IEX-408E-2VDSL2-HV-T is able to resume high throughput after line interference clears up, whereas similar products will stay in low-performance mode indefinitely.

Instead of installing a separate Ethernet switch at each drop point, the IEX-408E-2VDSL-HV-T offers six built-in Ethernet ports to connect to multiple devices, saving significant cabinet space and deployment effort. The unit acts as a fully featured Moxa managed switch and supports Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy protocols for millisecond network recovery times. Network downtime is further minimized with the bypass function, which maintains the network connection along the entire daisy chain even when one node fails complete. IT technicians can also monitor live status onsite via the built-in LED indicators and remotely using MXview industrial network management software.

The IEX-408E-2VDSL-HV-T is engineered for high reliability in challenging environments and supports wide temperature operation from -40 to 75 C (-40 to 167 F). It supports high voltage ac (110/220 Vdc/Vac), allowing it to be installed without an external power supply.
