EC: PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring v1.6

Software - Diagnostics: PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring is a plant-wide process diagnostic and optimization solution that proactively isolates performance issues related to PID control loops and associated mechanical resources that lead to reduced efficiency and unplanned downtime. This is a Control Engineering 2016 Engineers’ Choice finalist.

PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring enables process manufacturers to maintain optimal regulatory control and avoid the high costs of unplanned downtime associated with mechanical failures.

Right now roughly 65% of your facility’s regulatory control loops are under-performing. They are wasting energy and feedstock, and they are negatively impacting both product quality and plant safety. With hundreds if not thousands of control loops at a typical facility, your production staff are hard pressed to identify individual control loops that have degraded let alone to isolate the associated root-causes.

PlantESP Loop Performance Monitoring actively monitors controllers across your facility. PlantESP keeps a constant watch for performance issues and it equips your staff with timely notification of changes to production control. PlantESP applies a battery of KPIs and diagnostic tools to uncover insights that other technologies overlook. Its advanced heuristics recommend appropriate corrective actions and accelerate the resolution of performance issues. With the insight to see issues and the tools to fix them, PlantESP equips your production staff with the capability to optimize production performance. Optimizing plant-wide production and control is a full-time job. PlantESP just made it easy.

PlantESP leverages the new automated tag loop assimilation (ATLAS) function which significantly accelerates the time of solution implementation. PlantESP accesses a facility’s data historian using common communications protocols such as OPC-HDA, OLE-DB, ODBC and SQL queries. PlantESP can also connect direct to most historians using their proprietary connectors such as the PI-SDK for OSIsoft’s PI data historian and the Proficy-API for GE Proficy Historian. The ATLAS feature scans one or more data historians and automatically identifies PID control loops for configuration. The automated feature reduces configuration time by over half.
