AquaProbe 1 and 2 insertion magmeters from ABB Instrumentation are intended for clean water flow measurement in large lines.

AquaProbe 1 and 2 insertion electromagnetic flowmeters for clean water applications from ABB Instrumentation are said to offer an alternative to full-bore meters and a convenient way to perform surveys on existing lines and meters.

AquaProbe 1 is intended for permanent installations with available power. It connects with the ABB MagMaster transmitter and provides 4-20 mA analog output and HART communication operations. AquaProbe 2 is battery powered to serve temporary installations, but comes with such options as ac power with battery backup, data logger, and pressure transducer. Applications include checking, verifying, and certifying existing meters, and performing water loss surveys and studies on water distribution, pump efficiency, and trunk mains. It can also measure water flows in remote locations lacking power.

Hot-tap insertion allows installation without interrupting the flow. EEPROM member in AquaProbe 2 simplifies setup of replacements units, eliminating re-calibration and configuration. Units come in 12-, 20-, 25-, and 40-in. lengths for pipe diameters from 8 to 320 in. Accuracy is greater than
