New, smarter, MX series valve actuator from Flowserve.

Flowserve’s Limitorque MX smart electronic valve actuator has gotten even smarter with the addition of several new enhancements. Said to be designed for reliable and safe operation even in the harshest environments, the MX series now offers new mechanical and electronic refinements while widening options available for system communication and operator interface.

The MX series has always offered features such as absolute encoders with battery-free backup, LimiGard circuit protection, and Hall-effect devices to eliminate reed switches. New enhancements include:

Wider span for the absolute encoder;

Improved diagnostics capability;

Built-in self-test (BIST) function to verify its own components;

MX Quik uninterrupted power transfer option for power failures; and,

Improved dot matrix display.

Communications enhancements make the MX conversant with a wide variety of operating systems, including DeviceNet, Modbus, F OUNDATION Fieldbus H1, Profibus and others. Bluetooth wireless connection is optional to interface with Flowserve Limitorque Modsim Microsoft Windows CE-based software. This can transmit diagnostic information to a PDA, laptop computer, or cell phone.

MX actuators are available for torques up to 1,700 ft-lbs (2,307 N m) and thrust ratings up to 75,000 lbs (333 kN).
