Otto heavy-load material transporter from Clearpath Robotics Inc. is a self-driving vehicle designed to increase throughput and reduce operational costs in warehouses and industrial centers. With a payload capacity of 1,500 kg, Otto effortlessly moves large items and standard pallets. Otto offers a zero turn radius for tight spaces, a passive suspension for load stability, and a maximum speed of 2.0 m/s. It has safety-rated sensors, dynamic navigation intelligence, and a perceptive LED display. Unlike automated guided vehicles (AGVs), Otto does not use magnetic tape, bar codes, or any other fixed infrastructure to navigate a facility.
Clearpath’s localization and mapping software allows Otto to move freely within a facility, while safely avoiding obstacles and optimizing travel time to loading and docking stations. As workflows change, waypoints are simply uploaded with a click of a button. Industrial-grade components withstand the rigors of industrial environments. Otto intelligently detects and avoids obstacles using dynamic path planning and built-in safety-rated sensors, including front and rear LIDAR sensors. Intuitive 360-deg LED lighting and distinct audio prompts politely communicate the vehicle’s intentions for safe and effective collaboration. A modular appliance interface and on-board power supply easily integrate with standard industry appliances including carts, manipulators, lifts, and conveyors to address a wide-range of assembly line configurations.
