Integrated motor, actuator

The integrated design of this integrated servo motor/rod-style actuator provides high dynamic performance by eliminating the need for separate motors, couplers, motor mounts, gearing and belts.

The integrated-motor actuator (IMA) combines a servo motor

with a rod style actuator. The integrated design provides high dynamic

performance by eliminating the need for separate motors, couplers, motor

mounts, gearing and belts. The result is reduced component costs, assembly time

and failure points. The actuator provides up to 2,000 of force along with a

speed of 23 inches per second and positional accuracy of +/- 0.00984 inches. It

can be ordered in any incremental stroke length from 6 inches to 18 inches.

The actuator is available with multiple ball screw leads,

and a choice of motor winding voltages. The screw lubrication system allows for

easy re-lubrication without disassembly for extremely long service life. The

integrated motor actuator is a viable alternative for replacing pneumatic or

hydraulic cylinders in applications such as pressing, clamping, valve control,

spot welding and volumetric filling.
