MTS Systems Corp ., Sensors Division has increased the maximum order length of the Level Plus model MG level transmitter to 866 in. (22 m), which is approximately 20% longer than the previous available length. The increase in length does not affect the accuracy of the transmitter, which provides maximum non-linearity of 0.062 in. This level of accuracy is typically required for critical inventory and custody transfer applications.

The MG level transmitter’s magnetostrictive design uses a moving float to provide digital output in the liquid-level marketplace for vessels from 20 in. (.508 m) to 866 in. (22 m). Outputs include Modbus, DDA (proprietary ASCII protocol), and Foundation Fieldbus. MTS says the MG transmitter features 3-in-1 measurement of the product level, interface level, and the average temperature from up to 12 temperature points, using a single process opening, eliminating the need for separate level and temperature transmitters.

Users can obtain direct volume readings by using a 100-point strap table that the user loads into the transmitter. By incorporating the strap table into the transmitter the user does not need multiple copies of the strap table or to code the additional formulas.
