RS-232 to USB thumb drive data collector can log production data

Serial data collector from Brigantine Electronics can replace many types of devices.

August 8, 2011

Brigantine Electronics has developed a small, inexpensive, easy-to-use RS-232 to USB stick data collector ready for production environments. Any data sent via the serial port, whether plain text, formatted data, comma separated values, binary, or other, is written to a file on the USB stick exactly as it is received. The Dogcatcher data collector can replace serial printers, log production data, log test data, and log environmental sensor readings. Users can connect it as needed to download data in chunks, or it can be left in place permanently. It can record a trickle of data for months on end, or record a continuous stream of data at 9,600 baud. Its small case with mounting tabs is easy to integrate into production and test equipment, and it can run off any 8 to 30 Vdc supply.
