Pittsburgh, PA — GasBadge Pro single gas monitor from Industrial Scientific Corp. now has a hydrogen cyanide (HCN) sensor option to provide a personal monitor for use by safety professionals, plant personnel, and first responders in precious mining and recovery, gold plating, food and beverage, and hazardous materials industries. Dockable device can be adapted quickly with interchangeable smart sensors to monitor unsafe levels of oxygen and any of a variety of toxic gases including ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide, phosphine, and sulfur dioxide.

Each monitor comes standard with STEL (short-term exposure limit) and TWA (time-weighted average) readings, data logging of up to a year of survey data, and an event-logger that records the last 15 alarm events. Monitor is compatible with the company’s DS2 docking station and iNet monitoring service to simplify and automate calibration, function (bump) testing, and data management.

Device is housed in a rugged enclosure, immune to RF, and water resistant. Protective, concussion-proof overmold protects the unit from abuse in harsh industrial environments. Powerful audible alarm is augmented with vibrating and visual alarms when gas concentrations exceed preset limits. Product features a large LCD with backlight for visibility in low-light conditions and can be password-protected for security. Compact size and light weight (3 oz; 85 grams) allow it to be worn comfortably with many clip attachments.
