Define Instruments’ Sentry trip amplifier is a DIN-rail mountable signal conditioner measuring just 0.91-in. wide. The Sentry trip amplifier is designed for industrial monitoring and alarming applications. The Sentry watches scenarios where monitoring is vital such as monitoring the temperature of cold storage for foodstuffs), and alarms when signals exceed safe parameters.

The Sentry accepts seven signal input types (Potentiometer, V, Tc, mA, Freq, NTC and RTD) and works with both ac or dc voltage (24 to 250 Vac or 19.5 to 250 Vdc). This provides in-field flexibility as it can be plugged in to whatever power source is available and eliminates the risk of the unit being disabled because of an incorrect power supply. It has two relay outputs for alarm or control applications and an optional isolated analogue output, which converts signals to 0 to 10V or 4 to 20mA for forwarding to a programmable logic controller (PLC) or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. It also has a 4-digit display for commissioning and fault finding.
