RoHS-compliant X-board miniKit for ultra-compact and robust mobile applications from Kontron is based on the X-board open standard for computer-on-modules. Compact, ready-to-use baseboard for RISC-based modules, the miniKit measures 80.5 sq cm (115 x 70 mm). It reportedly includes all components, with Microsoft Windows CE pre-installed on the X-board module, to remove risk from developing with RISC processors. Developers can test the application on the X-board platform with the Kontron X-board miniKit out of the box. Kit comes standard with high-performance X-board module; new X-board miniBaseboard; 3.5 QVGA touchscreen display; switchable ATX power supply unit; embedded-to-box adapter cable for Ethernet, RS-232, USB (host and client), CF-card and audio I/O (2 x 3 mm plug); and board support packaged for licensed Windows CE. Linux BSP is planned.
