System integrator award deadline extended to Aug. 10; judges named

Oak Brook , IL —As entries for Control Engineering ’s System Integrator of the Year Award roll in, the deadline was extended to Aug. 10, and contest judges were named.

“I know a number of firms have been working to complete the application in time,” says Control Engineering ’s Vance VanDoren, system integration editor. “The brief extension gives system integrators a few extra days before distributing materials to judges.” Criteria for the new award are business skills, technical competence, and customer satisfaction. The winner will be featured as the cover story of the 2007 issue of the Control Engineering Automation Integrator Guide, distributed in December 2006.

Judges are:

  • Norm O’Leary, executive director of the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA);

  • Shari Worthington, president of Telesian Technology, Web marketing consultants;

  • Don Roberts, president of Exotek, consultant to the system integration industry and auditor for the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA);

  • Walt Kozikowski, industry director for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association and NEMA’s representative to the CSIA;

  • Tom Bullock, president of Bull’s Eye Research – automation industry analysts;

  • Dr. Michael Workman, president of Michael E. Workman Associates and professor emeritus of the Industrial Distribution faculty at Texas A&M University;

  • Dennis Brandl, founder of BR&L Consulting and a Control Engineering columnist;

  • Renee Robbins, editorial director for Control Engineering ; and

  • Dr. Vance VanDoren, system integration editor for Control Engineering .
