South Korea certifies active 433.92MHz RFID

Seoul, South Korea — Certification of Savi Technology’s use of 433.92MHz for active, RFID-tags and -readers has been received from South Korea’s government. The decision enables deployment of Savi’s RFID-based solutions in this region. South Korea is one of the U.S.’ largest Asian-trading partners, shipping some 900,000 TEUs (20-ft-long container equivalents) between the countries annually.

Specifically certified were Savi’s Tag ST-654 and Fixed Reader SR-650. Tag ST-654 is an RFID tag, with transmission ranges up to 300 ft, that is suited for various applications, including tracking shipping containers, vehicles, and other large property. Fixed Reader SR-650 is a data collection system for real-time, end-to-end visibility of goods and critical assets moving through the supply chain.
