Blythewood, S.C. – Spirax Sarco , a developer and supplier of industrial steam management systems, announced Nov. 5 that it has purchased M&M International (Bergamo, Italy). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

M&M manufactures and globally distributes solenoid valves and piston activated valves. Spirax Sarco reports that M&M’s comprehensive product line and technological depth were major considerations in its acquisition.

M&M will continue to operate in Italy as an independent company within the Spirax Sarco group, and will continue to produce and supply their present range of products.

Previously, M&M’s subsidiary, M&M USA, ceased to operate as a company in October 2000. The integration of the two firms began at that time, and Spirax Sarco became the exclusive supplier of M&M’s products in the U.S. This strategy was designed to improve the logistical, commercial and technical support of the M&M product line in the U.S.
