Industrial Ethernet networks and edge computing
1 CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOUR (PDH) AVAILABLE UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AN EXAM.
Edge computing environments can decipher and analyze terabytes of data from disparate devices and networks and turn it into useful information. The challenge is the lack of data standardization. How can data be normalized from a syntactic and semantic perspective into helpful information?
During this webcast, the presenter will discuss the importance of the technical innovations at our doorstep, inclusive of time-sensitive networking (TSN), 5G, WiFi6, IoT and edge/cloud computing. He will also explore interoperability’s value proposition in a multi-vendor, multi-platform environment requiring secure reliable information integration between information and operations technologies (IT/OT).
Tune in to learn how industrial Ethernet technologies historically approached standardization and how rapid convergence onto a single physical wire leverages TSN technology for real-time communications and concurrent configuration applications. The key to data communications in the OT world is determinism for control applications and the configuration/programming of devices and applications that do not require deterministic communications.
Learning objectives:
- Explore the data standardization challenge
- Understand syntax, semantics and data normalization
- Learn recent Industrial Ethernet advances
- Real-time communications and application configuration
