Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc.’s new SEL-3022 wireless encrypting transceiver.

Pullman, WA —Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc. (SEL) introduced its new SEL-3022 wireless encrypting transceiver. Its claimed attributes are:

Avoiding exposing personnel to hazardous conditions;

Keeping enclosure and control house doors shut;

Using the 802.11b wireless interface;

Installing SEL software to add an encrypted serial port without changing the applications or communications programs;

Connecting the SEL-3022 wireless-encrypting transceiver to an EIA-232 port on the equipment;

Locating equipment where vandals cannot reach it;

Keeping gates and control house doors locked; and

Locking out cyberintruders using approved encryption and authentication.

Pricing is $740, including a: SEL-3022, SEL-5810 encrypted serial-port software, and antenna.
