Control, monitoring software

A new software system adds functionality to the Dataforth isoLynx SLX200 data acquisition system. Dataforth-SLX920 can work with the data acquistion hardware to serve as an automation or test system for factory automation, process control, test and measurement, machine control, and data acquisition.

A new software system complements the Dataforth isoLynx SLX200 data acquisition system. Dataforth-SLX920, combined with one or more isoLynx SLX200 systems, serves applications in factory automation, process control, test and measurement, machine control, and data acquisition.

Establishing a complete automation or test system using Dataforth-SLX920 is simple. The core software is provided as an ISAPI dynamic link library that plugs into Microsoft IIS under Windows. This sets up the central server, which can connect to many of the data acquisition units via one or more networks. The networks can be EIA-485 or dedicated Ethernets, or both. Users then access the system via an intranet or the Internet. No application software is required because the HMI is delivered via Web browsers. Dynamic real-time graphical displays are generated on the Web pages by the SLX920-Graphic Java applet. Browser allows remote control and monitoring. The administrator easily creates an I/O Website using the SLX920-Designer, which allows dynamic real-time graphical objects (pie charts, histograms, graphs, and mimics) to be created using a graphical user interface. When viewed in the users’ browsers, these graphical displays respond in real-time to external signals. The software is expected to ship in late March or early April.
