The Control and Information System Integrators Association (CSIA) reports that it enrolled its 250th member company in October—Beach Panel & Controls Inc., a system integrator located in Chesapeake, VA—and now has more than 260 total members.

"This new record high in membership reflects the growing recognition by the manufacturing community of the special capabilities our members bring to today's increasingly complex control and information system projects," says Norman O'Leary, CSIA's executive director. "For example, our registered members bring to these projects a proven set of business-management capabilities, beyond their acknowledged technical superiority, confirmed by the rigorous audit process that precedes registration status."

CSIA's more than 260 members include more than 210 regular system integrator members; nearly 50 associate members, which are automation product suppliers; and its first five participant members. This is a new category of system integrator member, which consists of new or small system integrators that meet reduced sales volume requirements.

"These participant members represent an important new group of integrators, who anticipate growing to meet the higher sales levels required of regular members. This latest membership number also reflects a large and growing group of international members from Russia, Japan, Australia, Switzerland, Brazil, and India."

Established in 1994, CSIA's primary mission is to help better system integrators become better business people. Members gain the power of the association's broader presence and insight into the best business and project management practices in the automation and information technology (IT) domains.

CSIA adds its members annually provide their worldwide manufacturing clients with more than $1 billion in industrial automation systems, incorporating $400 million in hardware and software automation products. They deliver integrated control and information systems for clients in automotive, chemical/petrochemical, electronics, food/beverage, material handling, metals, pharmaceuticals, rubber/paint/plastic, utilities, water/wastewater, and other industries.
